Exchange of Student Records

By the start of the 2009-2010 academic year, the SWan Student Records Group had secured access to partner Institutions for all SWan-affiliated and associated students. This had been achieved by exchanging information between student record systems of all three Institutions. SWan students can be issued with usernames and passwords for each University, giving them online access to services. They may also apply for ID cards to gain physical access to each Institution.

What is the difference between a SWan-affiliated and an associated student?

A SWan-affiliated student may either be enrolled on a SWan course/programme (see list) or be a SWan-funded Phd student. Access is automatic.

SWan course/programmes:

  • BSc in Biomedical Science(s) at any of the SWan partner institutions
  • BSc in Biomedical Informatics at St George’s
  • Foundation Degree in Long Term Conditions at St George’s
  • Foundation Degree in Health Informatics at Kingston
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Physician’s Assistant Studies at St George’s
    • MSc in Leadership and Management in Health at Kingston
      • MSc in Biotechnology at Kingston
      • MRes neuroscience pathway at St George’s

A SWan-associated student is:

  • A student of any of the three member institutions who is enrolled in a module of a SWan course/programme.
  • A PhD student researching in a discipline area that is covered by one of the SWan Institutes, whether or not supervised by a SWan staff member.

Associate students must contact their supervisor or Head of Department if they require access rights.
