Roadshow Events

Updated: 16 November 2007

SGUL Roadshow 2007Launched on 15 October 2007 at St George's, the SouthWest London Academic Network Roadshow series has proved a resounding success. Events, designed to highlight the research and teaching opportunities offered by the tripartite Alliance, have stimulated the interest of a broad spectrum of people, including academic staff, students and administrative personnel. The total number of attendees was around 120.

Commenting on developments, Cherie Woolmer, Strategic Partnership says: "The Roadshows proved to be an excellent means of meeting colleagues leading the development of the Alliance. People from different disciplines are finding that they have research and teaching interests that span the various Institutes and they are drawing huge benefit from having the chance to explore these ideas.

The Institutes have identified a variety of new programmes and research opportunities that staff can get involved with during the academic year. These include seed funding for research collaborations, joint PhD studentships, and new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in a variety of subject areas. In addition to the planning process, we are developing detailed work on academic regulations and learning technologies to support students and staff who will be working across the alliance".
