SGUL network login

When a SWan student from Kingston or Royal Holloway enrols onto a SWan course, information will be sent by the home institution to St George’s to create a record for that student on the St George’s student records system. Once this has been done, an email will be sent by St George’s to the student to give them their SGUL network username and tell them how to obtain their associated password. This SGUL network login information is the key to obtaining online access to St George’s resources.

SGUL ID card

Because SGUL is attached to an NHS trust, security is a priority and hence if you wish to visit the SGUL site you are asked to obtain a SGUL ID card and wear it at all times while you're on site.

Students requiring a SGUL ID card should visit the Student Centre on arrival, and the Student Centre staff will be happy to arrange this. Please bring your home institution ID card with you. The Student Centre is located on the right immediately inside the SGUL entrance from Cranmer Terrace.

ID card photographs can only be taken at certain times of the day, so it would be a good idea to call the Student Centre before your first visit to check.

The Student Centre contact details are as follows:

  • Phone number: 020 8266 6344.

  • Fax: 020 8725 0841

  • Email: studentcentre@sgul.ac.uk

  • Address: The Student Centre, Ground Floor, Hunter Wing, St. George’s, University of London, Cranmer Terrace, London  SW17 0RE

  • Opening hours: 9am – 5pm Monday to Thursday, 9.30am – 5.30pm Friday

See Library floor plan Detailed site map, floor plan and Maps and directions

The procedure can be summarised as follows:

  • SWan student phones Student Centre to agree a suitable time

  • Student visits SGUL Student Centre with home institution ID card

  • Student Centre team authorise SGUL ID card

  • Student visits SGUL Media Services for photo--ID produced as they wait

  • Student has card activated on first trip to library.
